Bahu fort and garden is located almost 5 kilometers away from the city center, but should be visited both for its historic significance and overall magnificence. The magnificent fort, which was built by Raja Bahulochan more than 3,000 years back, stands on a hilltop on the left bank of the River Tawi in Jammu. The fort was refurbished by Raja Gulab Singh during the Dogra Empire in the 19th century. In close proximity to the fort stands a shrine whose presiding deity is Maa Kali, a highly worshipped Hindu goddess. In the 19th century, it was renovated by the Dogra rulers. Mansar Lake is located about 20 kilometers from Samba town in Jammu and Kashmir, on the bypass between Samba and Udhampur. This magnificent lake is bordered by a forest of pine trees, and attracts tourists both for its natural beauty and the various exciting activities on offer. It attracts pilgrims and devotees in large numbers, and is regarded with the utmost significance by the locals because of its connection to the sacred Mansarovar Lake in Tibet. A popular tourist attraction at the lake is the shrine of Sheshnag, the Lord of Serpents, located on the eastern bank of the lake. It is visited in large numbers by newlywed couples who perform three circumambulations to seek blessings.
The Holy Cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine is situated at a distance of 48 kms north of Jammu city and at an altitude of 5200 feet on Trikuta hills. A pilgrimage to the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji is considered to be one of the holiest pilgrimages. The Holy Cave attracts millions of devotees every year. This is due to the unflinching faith of the devotees who throng the Shrine from all parts of India and abroad.
Krimchi Group of Temples is located in Krimchi, a small village located in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. These exceptionally beautiful ancient temples are believed to have been built in the 11th-12th century AD, and locally, they are also known as the Pandava Temples. Raghunath Temple, with seven shrines each with its own `Shikhara`, (shikhara, a Sanskrit word translating literally to `mountain peak`, refers to the rising tower in the Hindu temple architecture in north India) is one of the largest temple complexes of north India, located in Jammu city. Maharaja Gulab Singh and his son Maharaj Ranbir Singh built the temple, during the period of 1853-1860.
